With summer regrettably (and unmistakably) over, many of us adopt a colourless wardrobe, and while I don’t think this is a rule, I also find myself dressing in the customary black+grey that dominates most winter closets. The funny thing is that, this year I’m looking at my monotone ensembles with a little more amity.
It’s harvest season! Living in Ontario, I feel so lucky to be surrounded by farms of various kinds, namely apple orchards! Bring on the pies, crumbles, ciders, and butters (Oh, I could go on — and did I mention I LOVE apples?!)
Happy Fall friends! This time of year is all about change; The change of leaves from green to gold, the change of the air from balmy to crisp. And with the birth of my first little one, my personal life is no exception! The hubs and I are doing our best as new parents — figuring out what it means to be a mom and a dad, while juggling new schedules and responsibilities.
As the weather cools down, we’ll soon be tempted into hibernation with long socks and steamy lattes. But before snuggling-in for the season, I say now is the perfect time to take another vacation! Trust me — there are fewer crowds in September, and you won’t be fighting any mid-summer heat bombs as you see the sights.
Reluctant to welcome fall? You’re not the only one! Despite the likelihood that this year’s fabulous summer heat will persist through September, the very mention of said month invites us to swap our flip-flips & sun hats for riding boots & pumpkin spiced beverages (yay for pumpkin everything, btw).
I’ve got to admit that August comes with mixed feelings — we’re getting our hottest, most beach-worthy days, whilst September eagerly peers over our sun-kissed shoulders. BUT, the summer is not over yet friends! There is still time to pack that picnic, take that weekend road trip, and host that BBQ with your besties.
Last Thursday evening, in the name of Peace, I joined 3,000 yoga lovers in Toronto for an outdoor yoga session. As is tradition for the Lolë White Tour, guests dressed in white from head-to-toe (even my toenails received a coat of white polish!) It was a beautiful sight, and peacefulness truly did surround us as a wave of Oms carried the setting sun out of sight.
Summer is sooo good! If you’re anything like me, you look forward to those sun-drenched days spent lounging next to the lake, paired with a good magazine, and a cold drink (ahhh). In my experience however, these blissful moments rarely happen on their own – they take a little planning ahead, and often you need to make time, in your otherwise busy life, simply to slow things down a notch!
