Does anyone else remember the pure magic of watching The Little Mermaid as a kid? If you were anything like me, you spent considerable time pretending to be Ariel – I’m talking hours of bath-time splish splash, chatting to imaginary crustaceans, and summers spent in neighbourhood pools, diving through hoola hoops to retrieve make-believe ‘dinglehoppers’ from the “ocean” floor. Well friends, this past weekend, I got to live my childhood dreams!
Happy New Year friends! I’ve been a little MIA on the blog since the holidays; juggling serious food baby (+ my actual baby) has had me wearing pyjamas round-the-clock. Indeed, my most recent cause for celebration was the shear miracle of making it out of the house in this winter weather, babe in tow.
As a yogi and teacher, I LOVE that yoga is becoming so widespread. People are practicing dozens of styles all over the world. You can find classes in community centers, studios, parks, and online, and chances are you or someone you know is an avid practitioner — not to mention teacher! We all hit the mat for different reasons, but one of the undeniable results of yoga is getting to know yourself better, and there’s no greater gift than that!
Hands up if you love a good salad! Forget sad lettuce leaves topped with store bought dressing — I’m talkinghearty bowls of mouth-watering veggie goodness! Today I’m sharing this tasty meal which I whipped up for dinner in under 20 minutes, all while wearing my baby in a wrap while she napped. So ya, it’s pretty darn easy to make.
Last Thursday evening, in the name of Peace, I joined 3,000 yoga lovers in Toronto for an outdoor yoga session. As is tradition for the Lolë White Tour, guests dressed in white from head-to-toe (even my toenails received a coat of white polish!) It was a beautiful sight, and peacefulness truly did surround us as a wave of Oms carried the setting sun out of sight.
A shopping celebration topped with champagne, fresh lemonade, and mini manicures? Count me in!
My favourite yoga studio in Toronto is hosting a Summer Shopping Social — and their entire retail boutique, filled with pampered products for mama and babe, will be up to 50% OFF! And the best news is… you’re invited! Some great Canadian brands will be making a pop-up appearance as well, so don’t miss this opportunity to scoop up sweet deals on local goods while sipping your bubbly.
This past weekend I had a blast checking out all the wellness exhibitors at the 2016 Toronto Yoga Conference with my sister (aka: my Best-y). We sipped fresh coconut water, nibbled on Made Good Granola Minis, and browsed through hundreds of lovely yoga lifestyle products. From jewellery to cookbooks, and of course yoga mats and apparel, there were so many items I wanted to bring home – and many of which I did!
Spring is just around the courner, can you feel it? Despite the recent refreeze we’re enduring in Toronto, I’m thrilled to actually see natural light before 8am, and to hear bird songs coming from the sleeping trees. Tulip and crocus leaves have started to rise through the earth of my tiny front yard – it feels like spring is ready to pop!
Brrr, it’s cold out there! Well, have I got something for you. I’ve made another contribution toThe Wonder Forestblog about how to keep those winter blues at bay! Here’s a sneak peak at my contribution:
