Welcome December! I am steam rolling into this festive month ahead, filled with excitement and so much to be grateful for. My daughter is now 3 months old, and I am blessed every day with gummy, wide-mouthed grins (I Cannot. Get. Enough!) The more she smiles, the more I am motivated to do ridiculous things for her sheer entertainment. I have made up more spontaneous rhymes in the last two weeks than ever before — In fact I may have discovered my calling as a jingle writer.
With summer regrettably (and unmistakably) over, many of us adopt a colourless wardrobe, and while I don’t think this is a rule, I also find myself dressing in the customary black+grey that dominates most winter closets. The funny thing is that, this year I’m looking at my monotone ensembles with a little more amity.
Happy Fall friends! This time of year is all about change; The change of leaves from green to gold, the change of the air from balmy to crisp. And with the birth of my first little one, my personal life is no exception! The hubs and I are doing our best as new parents — figuring out what it means to be a mom and a dad, while juggling new schedules and responsibilities.
Reluctant to welcome fall? You’re not the only one! Despite the likelihood that this year’s fabulous summer heat will persist through September, the very mention of said month invites us to swap our flip-flips & sun hats for riding boots & pumpkin spiced beverages (yay for pumpkin everything, btw).
As most of you know, the hubs and I are expectingour first baby! Our due date is in August, which for months has seemed ages away — but now, as I’m posting August’s wallpapers, this baby business is getting pretty real!
July, you sneaky sneaky summer month! You’ve caught me by surprise, I must say!
This month’s wallpapers are coming to you a little late. It just goes to show how quickly the days can fly by. And if you’re not on top of them – Woosh! They’re gonna pass right by you! But summer months are always like that, don’t you think?
The summertime countdown is on — and although I don’t generally adopt a scarcity mindset when it comes to life’s pleasures, we all know summer only lasts so long here in Canada, so we’ve got to make the most of it!
Finally, it seems as though summer has arrived! I really wanted to get a jump start on living those summer vibes (goodness knows they’re always over too soon), so I decided to pack up my tote with towels, watermelon, and my favourite magazine for a leisurely morning at the beach.
“Tea for two, and I love you” is a sweet little rhyme my Grandma used to sing as we would sit down to our freshly brewed orange pekoe. Sharing tea and conversation has been such a lovely tradition in our home – and there isn’t a visit to my mother’s without a welcoming cup of tea to start the day!
