Happy May, friends! I hope you’re enjoying the sunnier days and the above 10ºC temperatures – I know I am, and to celebrate the month ahead I have new wallpapers to share! Of the many pleasures brought to us by Spring, spending time in the garden is a personal favourite. My husband and I recently moved into a house, which was quite the upgrade from our former bachelor dwelling. Not only are we thrilled to have more than one room to peruse, we are super excited to be spending time in the yard!
We’ve got a modest plot of dirt in the front yard, and a long, raised box bordering a fence in the back. I cannot wait to fill them beautiful flowers, but I’ve got to admit that as a newbie gardener, I’m more than a little intimidated. To get started I referenced a map for the Plant Hardiness Zones for Canada and I’ve been gushing over this perennial inspiration courtesy of Pinterest!
If you’re like me and you prefer a little more instruction on where to begin, I recommend checking out these fantastic garden plans by Better Homes and Gardens, which tailor plant groupings according to landscaping requirements and sun exposure. Wishing you all lots of fun outdoors this Spring!
