I’m taking a quick break from “May as the Month of Paris” on the Rather Luvly blog, to share some beautiful fitness gear. I honestly can’t stop wanting these items.
As a newly minted yoga instructor, the importance of using props is fresh in my mind. Props help you to fully experience your version of a pose while being in proper alignment, so you can avoid injury. I also have a background in design, so when I came across these beautifully designed yoga objects, I just had to share them with you!
Active-wear company Outdoor Voices has partnered with New York-based design studio Visibility, to design a family of five “yoga-related objects” made from natural materials. The designs use wood, cork, and felt, and includes: a resistance band, a wood yoga block, a triangular cork block, a wood roller, and a felt mat.
I love the triangular cork block. The shape looks stable and comfortable to hold while reducing strain on the wrists (which any yogi will tell you is a big issue). Also, this felt mat looks incredibly cozy. I could lie in savasana or child’s pose forever on this mat!
Where can you get some of these delightful props for yourself you ask? Well, unfortunately these beauties are only concepts! The project was exhibited at an exhibition called Wallpaper* Handmade in Milan, 2015.
If Outdoor Voices adds these to their online store anytime soon, they can be sure I’ll be adding them to my shopping cart!
