Christmastime brings about so many festive delights, one of my favourite being a good old fashioned Christmas Market! Bring on the street carollers, the wreaths hung on lampposts, the strands of lights sweeping between brick buildings – I love it all.
The Christmas Market in Toronto’s Distillery District is reminiscent of days-gone-by. With it’s cobbled lanes lined with bustling shops, you feel as though you’ve stepped into a Dickensian wonderland! The only thing missing this year was snow (always a magical finishing touch I say), but the market was no less wonder-filled.
Our trip to the Christmas Market was made with two of our closest friends from out of town. The photo diary below is our collaboration with their talented eyes and trusty camera. Thanks Melly and Dom! The Market runs until December 20th, so make haste friends, and don’t miss the magic!
Grab your Love and go for a romantic stroll by THE Christmas tree on Trinity street. You won’t have to look far to spot mistletoe (…as if you need a reason to smooch!)
We got to the market before noon and spent hours soaking in the festivities. If you can, stick around while the sun goes down, and watch as the market comes to life with tiny lights in every corner. Wishing you the happiest holidays, and may you be ever “Merry & Bright”!
