What you need to host a Mother’s Day Tea Party

“Tea for two, and I love you” is a sweet little rhyme my Grandma used to sing as we would sit down to our freshly brewed orange pekoe. Sharing tea and conversation has been such a lovely tradition in our home – and there isn’t a visit to my mother’s without a welcoming cup of tea to start the day!

So in honour of my dear mother and grandmothers – and yours too – I propose you host your very own tea party! Take out the fancy china or mismatched collections of antique cups, curate an assortment of treats (scones and sandwiches being well-loved tea accompaniments), and adorn the table in fresh blooms! Your momma is going to love it!

I’ve collected some of my favourite Mother’s Day Tea Party essentials below, including fruity teas from Sloane (find out how they brew the perfect cup), and lemony cupcakes from Tori’s, Toronto’s favourite vegan bakeshop!

Mothers Day Tea Party

1. Blood Orange Oolong Tea – Sloane Tea // 2. Dessert Stand – amazon.com // 3. “Toot Sweet” paper napkins – Putti // 4. Vegan Lemon Cupcakes – Tori’s Bakeshop // 5. “Joy” Place Setting – Royal Albert // 6. Fresh Flowers DIY – Paper & Stitch

Happy Mother’s Day to all you mommas out there. And special wishes for my own dear Mum – can’t wait till our next cup of tea!
